Over the years, I have developed what I like to call "natural highlights."
Yesterday, I wore my bangs pulled back in a barrette, which exposed my highlights a little more than usual.
As a group of kids came up to my table for Reading Groups, one little gal came around and stood next to me.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I like your white hair!" she said.
Great. And I say that sarcastically.

An Experiment
A few weeks ago, I had left C1 and C2 here alone while I ran somewhere.
When I got home, C2 had a balloon filled with water, still attached to the faucet, sitting in the kitchen sink. He needed it tied.
When I asked him what the heck he was going to do with that huge water balloon in the middle of the winter, he told me it was an experiment. He was going to freeze it, peel off the balloon, and see what he had.
Fine.
We put it in the freezer.
For two weeks it sat there.
Last weekend, I told him it was time to get it out of there.
He peeled the balloon off, and here is what he got.
This first picture, just makes me laugh. The ball o' ice was really cold for him to hold, and I could not get a picture quick enough!
After his hands warmed up, we finally got a good picture.
We sat it on the porch, and with the warmer weather, the ball is gone.
Experiment complete.
I wonder what he learned?

Really!?!
I'm sitting here minding my own business.
C2 comes in the room and lays on the bed. He is talking, but I'm not really listening.
C1 comes in and lays on the bed.
Now they are rolling and fighting and yelling.
C2 falls off the bed.
He is crying. He hurt his arm.
He is back on the bed now for revenge.
C1 finally gets up and goes back to her room.
C2 turns on the TV.
Now he is talking again, but I'm not really listening.
This all just happened in about a four minute time span...
REALLY!?!
This is my life?

Even the Cats Are Cold!
One of our cats, Mabel, can usually be found laying in front of the furnace vent in the kitchen. She spends a lot of time there...
Yesterday, she was joined by two of her friends,
Mu Shu and Esther decided to get in on this heat action!
I'm not sure how Mabel felt about it, but they stayed like that for a long time.
With today's low temperatures (it was two degrees when I got up), I think I need to find a furnace vent of my own!
