What Does It Take?

What does it take to get a 15 year old ready for Boy Scout camp for 1 week?

2 18 gallon Rubbermaid totes
1 pair of jeans
4 pairs of shorts
1 pair of swim trunks
5 pairs of underwear
12 pairs of socks
2 sweatshirts
5 sleeveless T-shirts
4 regular T-shirts
1 pair of hiking boots
1 pair of tennis shoes
1 pair of flip-flops
1 pair of cowboy boots (his choice, not mine)
1 set of bed sheets
1 pillow
1 sleeping bag
1 sleeping mat
1 can of bug spray
3 flashlights
2 flints
1 toothbrush
1 deodorant
1 small tube of toothpaste
1 bar of soap
1 bath towel/1 beach towel
2 camp chairs
1 tent/2 tarps
1 can of Camp Dry
2 boxes of Little Debbies
3 cans of Pringles
1 bag of Beef Jerky
1 bag of Potato Skins chips
1 6 pack of 20 oz. Mountain Dew
1 pocket knife
1 refillable water bottle
1 book bag
1 binder
3 Merit Badge books
3 Merit Badge worksheets
1 pen
1 Boy Scout shirt ( which we had to turn around and get)
1 big pack of gum
and
$40.00

Who washed, bought, and packed all this stuff?

ME!

Why? What do I get in return?

One week of peace. Peace of mind knowing where he is, what he is doing, who he is with. Peace and quite from hearing how hungry he is, how hot he is, how bored he is. Just peace around the house because he isn't here to stir things up.

Don't get me wrong, I love him dearly, but I also LOVE Boy Scout camp!
